Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, guests are warmly welcomed by your professional guide after clearing customs and immigration before departing the airport for the transfer into the capital.

The drive to Windhoek takes approximately 40–45 minutes, offering a gentle introduction to Namibia’s landscapes. The route passes through open savannah and rolling hills before gradually approaching the city. Along the way, your guide may provide a brief orientation, covering practical information, highlights of the country, and an overview of the journey ahead.

Today we depart southward into the vast, open landscapes that define Namibia’s interior. Leaving the capital behind, the scenery gradually transitions from central highlands to the arid Savannah and eventually into the striking red sands of the Kalahari.

The drive follows well-maintained roads, offering a comfortable and scenic route of approximately 3–4 hours. Along the way, guests can enjoy wide horizons, scattered camel-thorn trees, and the occasional sighting of wildlife such as springbok and ostrich. The sense of space and isolation becomes more pronounced as you approach the Kalahari region.

After an early breakfast at Kalahari Anib Lodge, your journey continues south through Namibia’s vast and ever-changing landscapes. Leaving behind the red dunes of the Kalahari, the terrain opens into wide plains, rugged hills, and distant mountain ranges typical of the country’s southern regions.

The drive offers a true sense of Namibia’s scale, passing through remote farmland and small settlements, with chances to spot wildlife such as springbok and oryx along the way. The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as you approach the Fish River Canyon area.

After breakfast at Canyon Village, the morning is dedicated to exploring the remarkable Fish River Canyon. A short drive brings you to various viewpoints along the canyon rim, where the vast scale and dramatic rock formations unfold before you. Your guide will share insights into the geology, formation, and unique characteristics of this natural wonder, while allowing ample time to take in the views and capture photographs.

Following the morning’s exploration, you continue to Canyon Roadhouse for lunch. This iconic and character-filled stop is known for its vintage décor, classic vehicles, and relaxed atmosphere, offering a memorable and distinctly Namibian dining experience.

Departing Canyon Village after breakfast, the journey heads south through the stark, open landscapes of southern Namibia. The route gradually descends toward the banks of the Orange River, where the scenery shifts to a striking contrast of lush greenery against rugged desert terrain.

A scenic drive along the river offers opportunities to pause and take in the tranquil surroundings, with towering cliffs and the gentle flow of water creating a peaceful atmosphere. This section of the journey provides excellent photographic moments and a chance to experience one of Namibia’s most important natural lifelines.

After an early breakfast at Klein Aus Vista, the day begins with a scenic drive toward the coastal town of Lüderitz. The route passes through stark desert landscapes, where the transition from inland plains to the cool Atlantic coastline becomes evident, often accompanied by sightings of the region’s famous wild desert horses.

The first stop is the historic ghost town of Kolmanskop. Once a thriving diamond mining settlement, Kolmanskop now stands partially reclaimed by the desert. Guests explore the abandoned buildings, where drifting sand fills former homes, creating a striking and surreal atmosphere. The visit offers insight into Namibia’s diamond history as well as exceptional photographic opportunities.

After breakfast at Klein Aus Vista, your journey continues northward toward the iconic Namib Desert. Departing the Aus region, the route traverses vast open plains and rugged desert landscapes, offering a striking sense of isolation and scale.

The drive takes you through ever-changing scenery—from rocky outcrops and dry riverbeds to expansive gravel plains—before gradually approaching the edge of the Namib. Along the way, there may be opportunities to spot wildlife such as springbok, ostrich, and, with some luck, oryx adapted to the harsh desert environment.

An very early morning departure from Namib Desert Lodge takes you into the heart of the Namib Desert, following the long desert road toward the iconic dune fields of Sossusvlei. The journey passes vast gravel plains before entering the dramatic red dune belt, where the landscape begins to shift into one of the most photographed desert regions in the world.

The first major stop is Deadvlei. Here, guests explore the surreal white clay pan surrounded by towering orange dunes and scattered with ancient, blackened camelthorn trees. The contrast between sand, sky, and skeletal trees creates a striking and silent desert scene, ideal for walking, photography, and slow exploration.

After breakfast at Namib Desert Lodge, the journey continues north through the vast and open landscapes of the Namib Desert. The route passes endless gravel plains, distant mountain ranges, and iconic desert scenery, offering a strong sense of space and remoteness.

A scheduled stop is made at Solitaire, a small desert settlement known as a classic refreshment point for travellers crossing the Namib. Here, guests enjoy freshly baked apple strudel accompanied by coffee or tea, with time to relax, stretch, and take in the unique desert atmosphere.

The day begins with an early morning departure from Swakopmund Delight, transferring to Walvis Bay for a scenic marine experience along the Atlantic coast.

The first activity is a dolphin cruise in Walvis Bay, where guests board a boat to explore the harbour waters and surrounding marine environment. The cruise offers close-up encounters with local marine life, including dolphins, seals, pelicans, and, depending on conditions, occasional sightings of whales or sunfish. Light refreshments are typically served onboard as the vessel moves through calm coastal waters and around the lagoon area.

Today is a relaxed, unstructured day to explore Swakopmund at your own pace. After breakfast at Swakopmund Delight, the day is open for personal exploration and leisure activities.

Swakopmund offers a mix of coastal atmosphere and historic charm, with its German colonial architecture, wide streets, and oceanfront promenades. Guests may choose to walk along the beachfront, explore local craft markets, or visit cafés and bakeries in the town centre.

After breakfast at Swakopmund Delight, the journey departs the coastal town of Swakopmund and heads inland through the dramatic landscapes of central Namibia. The route begins with the transition from the cool Atlantic coastline into the arid interior, passing through wide gravel plains and rugged mountain ranges.

The drive continues through the iconic Namib Desert transition zone, with scenic stops possible along the way to appreciate the vast open spaces and geological formations that define this part of the country. The route offers a gradual shift from desert to semi-arid savannah, with occasional sightings of desert-adapted wildlife.

After breakfast at Damara Mopani Lodge, the journey departs into the rugged landscapes of Damaraland toward one of Namibia’s most significant cultural sites. The drive passes through rocky hills, dry river valleys, and open plains characteristic of this remote region.

The first visit is to Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring thousands of ancient San rock engravings. Guests explore the site with a guide, learning about the historical and cultural significance of the carvings, which depict wildlife, hunting scenes, and symbolic markings dating back thousands of years.

After breakfast at Damara Mopani Lodge, the journey continues north toward the iconic wildlife region of northern Namibia. The route passes through open savannah, scattered mopane woodland, and remote rural landscapes, offering a gradual transition into the Etosha region.

Arrival is at Etosha Safari Camp, a well-positioned lodge located close to the southern entrance of Etosha National Park. After check-in, timing permitting, the itinerary continues with a half-day guided excursion into the park.

An early departure from Etosha Safari Camp takes you into the vast wilderness of Etosha National Park as the gates open in the morning. The early hours offer optimal wildlife viewing conditions as animals are most active before the heat of the day sets in.

The safari explores a network of open plains, mopane woodland, and salt pan edges, with stops at well-known waterholes where wildlife congregates. The morning drive focuses on productive wildlife areas, with opportunities to encounter elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and various antelope species. Depending on movement patterns, predator sightings such as lion or hyena may also occur, particularly near active water sources.

After an early breakfast at King Nehale Lodge, the day is dedicated to exploring the northern section of Etosha National Park. Entry into the park is made early to take advantage of peak wildlife activity around waterholes and open plains.

The morning game drive focuses on the northern Etosha region, known for productive water sources and strong wildlife concentrations. Guests may encounter elephant, giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, and various antelope species, with predator sightings possible depending on movement and conditions.

After breakfast at King Nehale Lodge, the journey departs the northern Etosha region and heads south through Namibia’s vast rural landscapes. The route passes through open savannah, scattered settlements, and livestock farming areas, offering a clear contrast between wildlife conservation zones and communal agricultural land.

A significant feature of today’s drive is crossing the well-known “Red Line” veterinary fence, an important boundary in Namibia’s livestock and wildlife management system. This section of the journey provides insight into the country’s unique approach to disease control and conservation integration.

After an early breakfast at Okonjima Plains Camp, the morning begins with a guided leopard tracking experience within the AfriCat Foundation reserve. Using telemetry equipment and expert field tracking techniques, guides follow collared leopard movements through the reserve’s diverse terrain of open plains, rocky outcrops, and dense bush.

This activity focuses on understanding leopard behavior, movement patterns, and conservation efforts aimed at protecting these elusive predators. Sightings are not guaranteed, but tracking provides a strong interpretive wildlife experience even when animals remain hidden.

After breakfast at Okonjima Plains Camp, the journey begins with a relaxed drive south toward Windhoek. The route passes through central Namibia’s open bushveld, farmlands, and rolling hills, offering a final opportunity to take in the country’s wide landscapes and quiet scenery.
